Cold Blooded but not Cold Hearted
About Leopard Geckos
They are solitary reptiles. Despite what you may see in pet stores, they must be housed individually.
They are crepuscular, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk.
They shed and eat their shed.
Their enclosures must consist of a hot, humid, and cool side.
They must have a heat source AND UVB lighting.
They are insectivores and must only eat live bugs. A variety of bugs such as mealworms, dubia roaches, super-worms, wax worms, crickets, horn-worms, etc.
You must gut-load your insects before feeding your reptile (or any animal). “You are what you eat” and if you’re providing your bugs with a nutritional diet, your pet will also benefit from those nutrients :)
Leopard Geckos must be housed in no less than a 40Gal.
Here is shown Sage, our 8ft Boa Constrictor eating a frozen-thawed rat. She was an owner surrender in January 2023. She came to us with many health issues but now resides healthy and happy as a permanent snake ambassador for All God’s Creatures.
